Q. How long have I been carving?

A. I've been carving for 16 years, 6 years full time.

Q. Where do I get the wood for carvings?

A. All of my Timber comes from sources located here in the Pacific Northwest.

Q. What kind of wood do you use

A. Redwood, Cedar and sometimes Ponderosa Pine.

Q. How much do you pay for the wood

A. It's usually is Free. Most of my carving wood comes hazardous trees that have been removed by a Homeowner. I do not charge for my service of removing a "downed tree".

Q.What kind of tools do you use

A. I mainly use a variety of chainsaws, grinder, arbortech, then dremmel

Q. How much time does it take to carve an item?

A. It can be an hour, up to 6 months (depending on the size and amount of detail).

Q. what type of treatment/sealant do you use?

A. SparTM, Clear Urethane

Q. How often is treatment needed?

A. Once a year for outdoor items. Indoor items will not need maintenance.

Q. What if my carving cracks?

A. I fix the crack free of charge.

Q. How do you fix the cracks?

A. I use polyurethane glue with fine sawdust and thin wedges of wood for the big cracks.

Q. Can you do stump carvings?

A. yes, and I can also attach one of my carvings to an existing stump.

Q. Can you carve special orders or requests?

A. Yes, I look forward to interesting ideas. I'm happy to carve any item you may be interested in.

Q. How much deposit do you require for a special order?

A. 50% down is asked for *special orders and *stump carvings.

Q. What type of wood do you recommend?

A. I prefer redwood and cedar because it doesn't crack as much, it is softer and lasts longer outdoors.

Q. How do you darken the wood?

A. I use a torch for many different shades of darkening and highlighting the carvings.

Q. How do you price an item?

A. I adjust the price according to how much detail time I put into the piece.

Q. what type of saws do you use

A. Only a Stihl!

Q. Do you a special bar?

A. Yes, there are many types specially made for carving.
